What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of aromatic plant extracts and essential oils for healing and cosmetic purposes.
Aromatherapy is used for home, work places and even in malls or banquet halls in order to give an empty place a much needed revamp in terms of essence and atmosphere.
If a place smells good, it is more likely to be comforting on an individual’s body and mind, thus spiking a person’s interest and making them feel more active and pumped up.
The essence of a person, place or thing is generally underrated but aromatherapy has created a sense of wellbeing with the amount of effort it puts in extracting only the best out of essential plants and roots.
This is called a nebulizer. It spritzes a mist of essential oils around the room. Aromatherapy diffusers are claimed to break down the molecules in the essential oils and make them smaller, thus being able to spread faster. This isn’t exactly true though. The diffuser takes a liquid that is full of essential oils and turns it into tiny droplets so that it floats easier around the room. Just because the droplets are smaller, it doesn’t mean that the molecules inside of them are smaller as well. The molecular structure doesn’t change at all, thus putting the rumours to rest.
A burner heats up the essential oils so that they evaporate and fill the room. Aromatherapy burners are two-tier objects, with a top bowl-like section for putting the water and essential oil, and lower, there’s a section which heats the water above. As the candle heats the water, the essential oils and water disappear. Essential oils don’t burn.
Kinds of oils that are options for both?
Since, there are hundreds of essential oils, here’s a list of the most popular ones:
- Tea tree
Essential oils are full of antioxidant properties and there are thousands of oils that have been used over a number of years. Research shows that using essential oils treats a number of different ailments such as arthritis, sore throat, congestion, digestive issues, joint pain, muscle fatigue, stress, nausea and skin conditions, just to name a few!
Therefore, using these highly advanced essential oils in a burner or diffuser does not make much of a difference. At the end of the day, essential oils are an excellent way to uplift your mood with a relaxing and energizing effect. It is also said to be used in order to eradicate air-borne germs, because of its strong essence which is pleasant to us but a threat to bacteria in the air.
Burner or diffuser?
Both the burner and diffuser emit results which are equivalent to a calming sense of tranquillity. Essential oils can also be used for bathing purposes, covering your skin in a soft smell and making you feel fragrant and radiant throughout the day.
Hence, wanting to choose between a burner or diffuser doesn’t stand for a strong argument because at the end of it all, your home would smell pleasant and your mind is at peace. The effects of the two are overlapped in use because of the same end result, though they work differently and this can be observed in how they expel the same amount of essential oils.
Choose a burner or diffuser depending on what works for you, and don’t let advertisements fool you into buying a kind which they deem perfect. Make sure you understand the functioning and choose the essential oil you love, to have a happy and luxurious smelling environment.
